Wedding Receptions and Ceremonies

Instead of compressing your wedding into one single frantic day, spend 3, 4 or 7 days relaxing in beautiful surroundings at The Old Manor House with your family and friends before and after your wedding and reception. In addition, host an intimate meal for close family and friends the night before or the night after the main reception.

We believe that “It is the most important day of your life, so make a weekend of it” and we encourage our wedding couples to precisely tailor their very special occasion to their own exact requirements. We pride ourselves on taking a very hands-off, relaxed approach, allowing complete personalisation of this important event.

The estate is a beautiful, romantic venue for weddings receptions and ceremonies. The spacious lawns and beautiful grounds are especially private and can accommodate marquees seating up to 200 guests, with a choice of 2 different marquee settings. The Event Barn is ideal for smaller wedding receptions and can seat up to 60 guests.

For larger wedding receptions, the Event Barn and the adjacent Formal Garden and Walled Garden are a lovely setting for champagne and canapés before the main event in your marquee, and for dancing to your band or disco into the evening. Make your day even more memorable with fireworks and a bonfire in the evening, and we are happy to allow extra reception guests to sleep over in tents and campers.

There are a number of beautiful, historic churches, registry offices and other venues close to The Old Manor House at which to hold your wedding ceremony, please note that we are not registered as a venue for the legal formalities. We are also delighted to host Wedding Celebration Ceremonies, Commitment Ceremonies, Renewal of Vows Ceremonies, Civil Partnership Ceremonies and Naming Ceremonies.

Parties and Events

The Event Barn is superb for groups wishing to hold that special party, birthday celebration, al-fresco dinner or barbeque and is also recommended for Dancing Lessons and choreography sessions. The Event Barn will seat up to 60 persons for a meal and is beautifully set in the delightful Formal and Walled Gardens in a warm, south-facing position. It is 51ft long by 12ft wide (15.5 x 3.7 metres), is fully heated and insulated, has a sound–proofed wooden floor, a bar with a sink and drinks fridge, a full Audio Entertainment System with iPod/MP3/CD/FM output, a cloakroom with a toilet and double doors opening out onto the Formal and Walled Gardens.
